about
"In 1986, my family took a trip to Florida. My most vivid memories of that trip are of visiting Cape Canaveral. There's nothing quite as humbling as standing beside a Saturn V rocket, or sitting in a replica of an Apollo re-entry capsule.
I was fascinated by space travel before the visit, and even more so after spending that day at the Cape. 'Launch Sequence A' takes me back to that day, and makes me think of the bravery and calculated recklessness that was needed to send people to space in the 1960s.
Musically, I've listened to more than my fair share of French downtempo, space rock, and electronica from the late 1990s and early 2000s. Air, Bertrand Burgalat, and Daft Punk have been in heavy rotation for a long time. I let their influence rub off a little (a lot) in this song." —Michael Chambers (aka moon:and:6)
