“Houston (It’s Hard to Know When Your Heart Is Letting Go)” imagines the internal dialogue of an astronaut floating in space, not knowing if they might ever return home: a conversation between the head and the heart. A processed banjo riff provides the basis for a vocoder melody in true downtempo fashion. The simple two chord song never quite resolves, creating a mood of unresolved tension and anticipatory nostalgia.
lyrics
Houston we've had a problem
Houston go ahead
It's hard to know
When your heart is letting go
It's hard to find the words to say
Houston we've had a problem
One two three four
It's hard to know
When your heart is letting go
It's hard to find the words to say
Houston we've had a problem
Houston go ahead
It's hard to know
When your heart is letting go
It's hard to find the words to say
